Earth Science

Earth science, also called geoscience, is the study of everything in natural science that has to do with the planet Earth. Earth science is the study of the Earth's structure, properties, composition, and history. It also looks at the life on Earth and the processes that shape how its materials form and behave.

It includes the study of Earth's atmosphere (meteorology or atmospheric science), the water that flows on and under the surface of the continents (hydrology), the solid Earth (geology, geochemistry, and geophysics), and Earth's seas and oceans (oceanography or ocean sciences). It also looks at how the biosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, and geosphere all work together.
