Qualification Details

Your qualifications:

  • Holds a PhD degree within plant metabolomics or similar
  • Practical skills and experience with chromatographic analytical platforms for analysis of plant metabolites (e.g. GC-MS and LC-MS)
  • Experience with target and/or non-target metabolomics
  • Experience with bioinformatics
  • Experience with project management
  • Track record in dissemination and peer review publishing

Responsibilities/Job Description

The postdoc position will focus mostly on analysis of metabolite fingerprints of plant samples.  This includes development of analytical methods for a wide-scope target and non-target screening of plant samples using liquid and gas chromatography and mass spectrometry methods. We are looking for a person with skills and prior experience in plant metabolomics including project management, dissemination and publication, and quality control of large sample sets. The work needs to be conducted in strong collaboration with the project partners. The candidate is expected to be enthusiastic about working in an interdisciplinary academic environment conduction research and teaching. The position, therefore, requires a highly motivated scientist who is comfortable working in teams, have good interpersonal skills, as well as a collaborative and open mind-set. The postdoc is expected to contribute to teaching within the section and the position may also include performance of other duties.

About the Group

The Analytical Chemistry Group hosts the Research Centre for Advanced Analytical Chemistry ( The centre operates on multiple levels in the value chain, going from fundamental research to education and application of analytical methods, often in collaboration with industry.

We are a very dynamic group of approx. 30 people working on various aspects of analytical chemistry, from basic analytical chemistry to chemical fingerprinting of a wide variety of sample matrices. We work with projects in Denmark as well as abroad and work closely with a number of industrial partners.

About the Employer:

Terms of Employment

The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.The starting salary is currently up to DKK 437.843 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 74.871). Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
