About the Project

In eukaryotes, genome integrity is critically dependent on the stability of chromosomes, which is dependent on efficient DNA repair. Cancer cells are particularly sensitive to genotoxic stress due to their fast rate of proliferation. The aim of this PhD project is to develop the ZGRF1 helicase as a therapeutic target to eliminate cancer cells.
