About the Project

This project aims at studying the vertical motions of the North Atlantic lithosphere throughout the Cenozoic in connection with flow of, and heat-flow out of, the underlying mantle. The project aims at using geological records in connection with quantitative models in order to test hypotheses on the temporal and spatial patterns of movements in the tectonic region. Attention will be placed to the geodynamics of Greenland and surrounding regions. The project is funded by the Geocenter Danmark, and will be carried out in collaboration with the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland.
