Qualification Details

You have a PhD degree in one of the main strategy fields and preferably a few years of post-doctoral experience in an academic context. International peer reviewed articles are forthcoming or part of your portfolio.

You have a proven interest and expertise in strategy. Experience with a variety of research approaches is an advantage and familiarity with grant acquisition and valorisation of research is an asset.

You are an experienced and enthusiastic teacher. Experience with course development and thesis supervision is a strength. You are able to stimulate student learning and to maximize student participation in our system of small-scale problem-based learning (PBL). Experience with teaching in international classrooms is preferable.

The department appreciates an open mind to multidisciplinary research, and the ambition to combine academic rigor with societal relevance. Teamwork and good citizenship are highly valued. We expect any candidate to create significant synergies and positive externalities, both within the department, SBE, and beyond. The Department of Organisation, Strategy and Entrepreneurship (OSE) at the School of Business and Economics (SBE) of Maastricht University is looking for a strategy scholar to join our team. We are interested to hear from strategy scholars with an interest in, but not restricted to, strategic management, strategic innovation, corporate strategy and/or international business. Scholars keen to collaborate across areas of expertise are particularly invited to apply. We combine a strong commitment to excellent research and research-based education, with a focus on societal impact.

Fixed-term contract: Tenure Track.

We offer a position (1.0 FTE) as Assistant Professor (universitair docent), starting at the latest on the 1st of September 2022. Upon satisfactory performance in the one-and-a-half-year period, this initially 18 months position will become permanent.

We offer a salary as stipulated in the Collective Labour Agreement of the Dutch Universities. Within this framework, we offer a competitive salary with a minimum of € 3.821 and a maximum of € 5.943 per month (depending on your experience) for a full-time position of 38 hours/week. On top of this, there is an annual holiday allowance (8% of annual income) and an annual end-of-year bonus (8.3% of annual income).

You must be willing to move to (the vicinity of) Maastricht. Depending on your personal situation, you will be eligible for an allowance for moving costs. Other secondary conditions include a pension scheme and partially paid parental leave.
