About the Department

Our research is concerned with auditory signal processing and perception, speech communication, audiology, behavioural and objective measures of auditory function, computational auditory neuroscience, environmental acoustics, and hearing-instrument signal processing. The multi-disciplinary research conducted by the Hearing Systems Section is done in collaboration with several European networks, Danish hospitals, and with industry. The goal of the research is to increase our understanding of how the human auditory system functions and to provide insights that are useful for technical applications, such as hearing aids, speech recognition systems, hearing diagnostics, cochlear implants and virtual reality applications. Specifically, the research field of the position will be focused on exploring people’s speech communication challenges in adverse acoustic conditions with multiple interfering sources, as well novel strategies of intervention for people with hearing loss. The research will be connected to the activities at the Centre for Applied Hearing Research (CAHR), thereby giving unique opportunities for collaboration with the hearing-aid industry. The assistant professor position is part of DTU’s Tenure Track program. We offer a rewarding and challenging job in an international environment.
