Responsibilities/Job Description

The discipline of interprofessional education in pharmacy aims to prepare students to enter the health workforce with the essential competences of teamwork and collaboration. This is needed in an increasingly complex healthcare system of an ageing society with limited financial resources where health professionals need to collaborate with each other to accomplish good patient care. A focus of teaching will be strengthening interprofessional education in the internships in the master of pharmacy. Interprofessional education also needs to be incorporated throughout the curriculum of the master and the bachelor of pharmacy. This means that interprofessional education with medical students should be strengthened, and collaboration with allied health professionals such as nurses, nurse-specialists, physiotherapists, dieticians, as well as others should be established. The candidate will join the research group PharmacoTherapy, -Epidemiology & -Economics (PTEE) and is expected to contribute to existing research lines with a strong emphasis on pharmacotherapy, pharmacy health services research and clinical pharmacy, focusing on the interprofessional aspects in health care.

As Assistant Professor with an education profile you will:

  • teach in the Bachelor and Master degree programmes of Pharmacy
  • play a significant role in the development of education at FSE, both at the course and the programme level
  • contribute to research lines in the research group PharmacoTherapy, -Epidemiology and –Economics, or develop your own research in line with the strategy of the research group
  • contribute to the supervision of PhD students in the research group
  • contribute to the organization of the faculty, for example by participating in working groups and committees, especially in the domain of education.

At the stage of Assistant Professor 60% of your time is for teaching and education development, 30% for research and 10% for organizational tasks. After five years you will be assessed for tenure and promotion to the level of Associate Professor (see Conditions of employment).
