Qualification Details

To qualify for this position, you must have a master's level degree in a relevant topic in a field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering. Well-documented teaching experience is desirable, as are experience and familiarity with course development and/or program management. You have deep knowledge in different programming paradigms, theories and techniques. You are very comfortable with spoken and written English. Proficiency in Swedish is an advantage.

Responsibilities/Job Description

Major responsibilities

Your major responsibilities will be in teaching programming from introductory to advanced level, typically in Java and Python, and potentially giving courses or assisting in other core computer science courses in areas such as data structures or databases, as well as supervising projects and thesis work at various levels, and assist in teaching activities such as planning and administration.

About the Division

You will work within the Computing Science division, which currently has around 30 faculty members divided into the units Formal Methods, Functional Programming, Information Security, and Logic and Types. We are the main provider of teaching to four BSc programs and four MSc programs, both on the GU and Chalmers sides, and provide introductory and advanced programming courses to many more engineering programs at Chalmers. We have around 30 PhD students and postdocs in the division, who also take active part in our teaching.
