DTU Wind and Energy Systems is a mission driven university department which creates value for society through the integration of research with education, innovation and research-based consultancy within key fields in the development and use of wind energy.

Our data and models are used in Danish and international research projects and in consultancy projects with the industry. You get the opportunity to work both in research and consultancy projects, supporting the development of Python and GAMS based software (and possibly other languages), usually deployed in a UNIX server environment. In addition to coding, you  will contribute to data management and visualisation, and  execute the code in related parts of the projects. You may also be asked to contribute to writing of scientific articles.

The job You will join the Wind Energy Systems division located at our Risø campus. We currently operate several tools related to analysing variable renewable energy and how it can be integrated into the energy system. We expect to develop these tools further, adding modelling capabilities to support the transition towards 100 % sustainable energy systems.

This position will afford you the opportunity to learn new skills and offers opportunities for personal development, as we are often investigating and developing best practices across the rest of the department.

Your main tasks will be:

  • Design and development of Python and GAMS based software, together with the researches working on wind energy and energy system topics
  • Help managing and later manage software projects via GitLab
