Qualification Details

Applicants should have a background in environmental, agricultural, chemical, or biological engineering with a strong profile in mathematical modelling. The applicants must have a successful research track record within emissions of ammonia and greenhouse gases from agricultural activities. The successful candidate should have competences and experience within:

  • Modelling of processes related to emissions from field-applied manure and manure storage. This should include mechanistic modelling of dynamic processes and statistical modelling of emission data.
  • Data analysis and development models for supporting emission accounting and policy decision-making.
  • Consultancy to policy makers with respect to gaseous emissions from the manure management chain.
  • Direction of externally funded projects including industrial collaboration projects.
  • Scientific writing and written English as documented by a solid record of peer-reviewed research articles.

Responsibilities/Job Description

The successful applicant will lead and contribute to a number of externally funded projects aiming at minimizing gas emissions from the manure management chain with special responsibility for development of models and data analysis in relation to process characterization as well as documentation of emissions and mitigation effects. Activities are closely coordinated with experimental research and method development. The position includes Public Sector Consultancy for the Danish government. Supervision of students in projects will also be a part of the position. The applicant should demonstrate the ability to perform research in an interdisciplinary field involving competences from environmental engineering, agricultural science, biology and chemistry. Projects are typically carried out in collaboration with external partners including industry, authorities, business organizations and other universities in Denmark and abroad.
