Qualification Details

Eligibility

Eligible candidates should hold a doctoral degree in business administration in the field of marketing and should also have demonstrated teaching expertise. The latter includes at least five weeks of training in teaching and learning in higher education.

Qualifications

The following experiences and competencies are requirements for the position:

  • Experience of teaching and research in retail marketing.
  • Experience of pedagogical development of both course elements and course material.
  • Ability to teach and assess in both Swedish and English.
  • Documented experience of collaboration with society, for example through the writing of reports, communication with the media or contact with companies, preferably with a connection to the retail sector.
  • Documented competence in the following areas: 1) critical theory and method, 2) sustainability.

In addition to the formal qualifications above, we require certain personal competencies. The applicant must be able to interact with both students and colleagues, continuously and frequently participate in the development of research and teaching within the department and the subject area, not least through physical presence at the department. The applicant should also have drive, the ability to see context and the capability to cooperate with and respect their environment.

The following experiences and competencies are merits for the position:

  • Experience of online teaching as well as pedagogical education in the field.
  • Experience of a variety of qualitative methods to be able to supervise and examine theses as well as to develop the area's collective competence in this field.

Assessment criteria

When employed as a senior lecturer, the following assessments should be applied:

  • a good national and international standing as a researcher, where the requirement for international qualifications shall be assessed with consideration to the character and traditions of the subject.
  • a good teaching ability, including a good ability to conduct, develop and lead educational activities at different levels and using a variety of teaching methods.
  • an ability to supervise doctoral students to achieve a PhD.
  • an ability to engage with wider society and communicate his or her activities.
  • a good general ability to lead and develop activities.
  • a good ability to participate in international collaborations and networks.
  • a good ability to obtain external research funding.

The applicant should demonstrate a strong and clear research agenda subsequent to their dissertation period with a standard corresponding to peer-reviewed research of international quality.

Responsibilities/Job Description

Tasks

The position refers to a lectureship which, according to the working hours agreement, involves 70% teaching, 20% research and competence development and 10% departmental duties.

The position involves teaching in the field of marketing with a focus on retail marketing.  The duties include independently managing courses and taking responsibility for quality assurance and development of pedagogical and educational material. The tasks include broad participation in the department's courses at both undergraduate and advanced levels.  The teaching responsibilities include thesis supervision and assessment of essays. Teaching is conducted in both Swedish and English.

The role also includes research and competence development, which includes writing scientific articles and actively seeking external research funding.

The duties also include collaborating with the surrounding community and actively participating in the development of the department and the subject area.
