Qualification Details

Qualified for appointment as senior lecturer is a person who has demonstrated teaching expertise and been awarded a doctorate in business administration with specialisation in organisation and leadership, or entrepreneurship, or has equivalent scientific experience considering the subject matter of the post and the duties it will involve.

According to the admission procedures at Linnaeus University the pedagogical skills are to refer to the planning, implementation and evaluation of teaching as well as to supervision and examination.

In order to be qualified, documented good leadership skills and ability to collaborate is also required.

Responsibilities/Job Description

The first three years of employment include being head of the department of organisation and entrepreneurship. The assignment is 60-80% during this period. Remaining time may include research and/or teaching. After completing the head of department assignment, the position is transferred to a senior lecturer of 100%.

The appointment comprises planning, teaching and examination within degree programmes and single-subject courses. The languages of tuition are Swedish and English and teaching takes place both on campus and through a web-based learning platform.

Active participation in the research environment is a condition, as is the initiation and pursuit of research of relevance to the subject field. Jobs tasks also include actively applying for external research funds. Collaboration with other researchers within and outside the School of Business and Economics and with the surrounding community nationally and internationally is expected, as well as active participation in the department's internal and external affairs. It is important to have the ability to collaborate and be flexible in the relation to students and colleagues as well as in research environments and external relations. Great importance will be attached to the applicant's interest in participating in the daily work at the department.

About the Department

The School of Business and Economics, one of Linnaeus University's five faculties, offers several business administration and economics programmes at both bachelor's and master's level, a large number of single-subject courses, as well as PhD education. We offer programmes within a number of different fields like management control, leadership, entrepreneurship, tourism, etc. The school has its activities in both Kalmar and Växjö, and web-based.

The School of business and economics is in an expansive phase recruiting multiple staff for building and developing several research areas, education and collaborations with the surrounding society.
