Responsibilities/Job Description

Our research group at UiB ( identified and characterized the complete known NAT-machinery in human cells. However, the full functionality of NatA remains to be explored. By further defining this enzyme, we may increase our understanding of fundamental cellular processes with a significant impact on human disease. See Mol Cell, doi:

The main tasks of the researcher will be planning, execution and analysis of research experiments on NatA mediated N-terminal acetylation within the frames of this RCN-project. Both standard and advanced methods in protein biochemistry are needed to carry out this project. Thus, the researcher is expected to act as self-driven scientist with the responsibility of key parts of the RCN-project from idea to publication. At the same time, the researcher will collaborate with other members of the lab to pursue the larger goals of the project.
