Qualification Details

  • Education as a laboratory technician or hold a BSc/MSc Degree, engineering degree or other relevant academic degree
  • You have a minimum of 2 years’ experience with flow cytometry work
  • You have experience in cell sorting
  • You have experience with cellular immune assays, antibody titrations, and cell handling in general
  • Experience with technical writing.
  • Strong communication skills with experience of working cross functionally.
  • You are fluent in spoken and written English. It is advantageous if you can communicate in Danish.
  • You like to interact and help people, and engage in scientific projects
  • You have a technical flair and like troubleshooting

Responsibilities/Job Description

DTU Health Tech is seeking a highly motivated and energetic research lab manager to join our team. In this position, you will work in a fast paced, customer focused, and challenging environment, bridging academia and industry.

Responsibilities Your primary responsibilities will involve management and development of our flow cytometry and cell sorter facility.

  • Operation and maintenance of the flow cytometry core facility equipped with BD FACSAria SORP high speed cell sorters, one BD Melody Cell Sorter, one SONY Cell sorter, 2 BD Fortessa analyzers
  • Maintenance, monitoring of performance, and troubleshooting of all equipment and associated peripherals, including minor repairs. Communicate instrument status updates and all necessary facility updates/news with facility users
  • Interact with vendors for instrument, service contract and reagent quotes as needed.
  • Train staff and new users in both theory and practice of flow cytometry through educational classes and hands on instrument training.
  • Test and optimize new antibody panels for immune analyses, pending on project need.
  • Ensure development and integration of new features and potentially new instruments.
  • Assists in fundraising to further develop our facility
  • Work closely with facility administrative lab manager and IT to optimize and streamline administrative tasks
  • Provide high quality customer service and welcome customer feedback to improve services
  • Provide expert technical assistance and consultation on user experimental design
  • Perform inventory and order supplies for all facility consumables

The position is full time, but a part-time employment can be negotiated.
