Qualification Details

  • MBO+ level, HBO/Bachelor level.
  • A background in the field of Life Sciences, Human Resources and/or Communications is preferable, or knowledge of Wageningen University.
  • A good communicator, Dutch and English level B2/C1 level minimum.
  • Empathic and trying to help students with an eye for the person in front of you.
  • Internet-savvy, with experience in using web-based applications e.g. MS Teams. In possession of a LinkedIn profile and knowledge of LinkedIn.
  •  Experienced in creating content for a website is a pre.
  • Preferably prior experience in organizing events.
  • Flexible, creative and stress resistant, and able to come up with pragmatic solutions.
  • Pro-active, results driven, with an eye for detail. Constructive critical mindset to stimulate the quality of our operations.
  • A real team player and loves to help to make this team run smoothly.

Responsibilities/Job Description

You will assist the whole team, the manager of the team is your formal manager. For activities concerning relation management with employers, you cooperate directly with the manager. For activities focussing on communication you cooperate directly with our communication coordinator.As project assistant you will support the activities and events organized by WUR Student Career Services. This includes tasks like (but is not restricted to):

  • Help students by checking their CV, motivation letter, LinkedIn profile. Via email, MS teams, or live at our office.
  • Functional management of our website, including production of content for our website and if necessary our other socials.
  • Adding events on our career platform and website.
  • Keep track of our career platform e.g. accepting job posts, boost posts or events. Direct existing employers contacts to our career platform.
  • Keep the job board next to our office up to date.
  • Support the online and live events: technically, logistics and financial. For example at the Career Days you also assist as a host.
  • Support the manager with the management of the CRM system SAGE for the database of the companies.
  • Answer questions of students, keep track of our group mailbox.
  • Administrative and office support activities.
  • Other tasks appointed by the manager.

About the Project/Department

Student Career Services is a small and enthusiastic team of 4 persons (including this position) and 1 or 2 student assistants. We are part of the corporate staff department Education & Student Affairs. Our goal is to prepare the students for the transition from education towards the labour market to the max, and to give employers an entrance to find the best employees for their business. We are experienced in the human resources field and the labour market. We help around 5000 students a year. We collaborate with internal stakeholders as the Student Challenges team, the Society Based Education team, the Alumni office, student- en study associations, study programme teams etc.

In addition to these first-rate employee benefits, this concerns a parttime position (0,6 fte –24 hours a week) starting with a one year contract. Salary depends on educational background, training and work experience and is based on scale 8 according to the Collective Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO Nederlandse Universiteiten), ranges from € 2.700,- gross per month to € 3.606 (1,0 fte). Any future changes will depend on the content of the several tasks and the professional development of the support officers.
