Qualification Details
Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.
- A doctoral degree in epidemiology, public health or similar
- A good track record of publications, particular as first author
- Excellent knowledge of the English language is required, both in speaking and in writing.
- The candidate should have strong team-working, intercultural communication and collaboration skills.
The following aspects are an asset:
- Strong interest and experience maternal and perinatal health
- Experience in teaching and supervising students at the master level
- Knowledge in French, Spanish, Tai and Vietnamese
- Experience in management of projects and interdisciplinary and multicultural collaboration
Responsibilities/Job Description
Your work will include a wide portfolio of research, teaching, and support to manage quality data collection within our ongoing research studies.
The main tasks will be to support epidemiological analysis and theory-based process evaluations and supporting our team research portfolio on improving intrapartum care and reducing unnecessary interventions during labour, with a view on safe and respectful care. You will lead and support paper writing. We also expect engagement and contributions to project management, in teaching in the field of epidemiology, supervising Masters and potentially PhD students as well as contributing to new grant applications. Thus, we are looking for an independent researcher with strong epidemiological skills but also interested/experienced in qualitative research and implementation science.
The applicant should be willing to perform duty travels as required.

At the Department of Global Public Health, we conduct research, teaching and applied work based on public health science and epidemiology. Our activities have a strong international perspective, and the Department's researchers are scientific advisers to authorities and other decision-makers on the regional, national and international level. The department includes the fields of global health, public health epidemiology and social medicine including health economics, health systems research and implementation research with a total of 150 employees and around 80 PhD students. The position will be within the health system and policy (HSP) research group, Solna, Stockholm, and the sub-group IMPlementation And QualiTy IMPAQT led by Claudia Hanson.
