The successful candidate is expected to hold a PhD in theoretical/computational chemistry or physics, computational materials science, or applied mathematics. Previous programming experience is a prerequisite (C++ and Python are the most relevant languages). Previous experience with method development in theoretical chemistry/physics or computational physics/materials science will be considered an advantage. The ability to carry on independent development work as well as the ability to work in a team of developers will be valued positively.

Qualification with a PhD is required before commencement in the position. If you’re at the final stages of your PhD, you may still apply if you have submitted your PhD thesis for doctoral degree evaluation within the application deadline. Responsibilities/Job Description

The successful candidate is expected to work on developing the relativistic quantum chemistry methods within the framework of Density Functional Theory and a novel approach based on Multiwavelets. In particular, the candidate is expected to contribute to the development and implementation of methods for 1-, 2-, and 4-components relativistic calculations with the goal of achieving a basis-set free representation for precise benchmarks and application.

The candidate will have the opportunity to work in one of the top software platform in the field (MRChem), thus gaining both skills and visibility which will be valuable for her/his future career both in academia and outside.
