Responsibilities/Job Description

A postdoctoral fellowship is available at the Department of Chemistry at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. The postdoctoral fellowship position is a temporary position where the main goal is to qualify for work in senior academic positions.

The goal will be to utilize and expand an already developed library of highly active colony- stimulating factor 1 receptor (CSF1R) and EGFR-kinase inhibitors based on heterocyclic scaffolds as starting point for new radiosynthesis of analogs containing 18F or 11C intended for PET imaging.

We are seeking a postdoctoral research fellow to join our team of experimental medicinal chemists. The project is connected to a central “Coastal Concortium” with project members from several other Norwegian universities and hospitals which is focused on the development of new PET tracers. The present position will mainly focus on development of radiolabeled kinase inhibitors. The candidate must hold a PhD degree within the field of organic synthesis or medicinal chemistry and preferably have some knowledge within radiosynthesis. The postdoctoral position is also a recruitment position, and especially young talents are encouraged to apply.

Duties of the position

  • Plan, execute and document synthesis of new hot and cold kinase inhibitors
  • Evaluate the synthesized inhibitors as possible PET tracers
  • Generation of new ideas to fulfil the goals of the project
