Qualification Details

  • You must have completed a Norwegian doctoral degree or corresponding foreign doctoral degree recognized as equivalent to a Norwegian PhD
  • You must have a professionally relevant background in one or several arts subjects (for example music, dance, craft) and from teaching practices and/or health care practices
  • Your research plan must show some knowledge about the Norwegian kulturskole and kulturskolerelated research

The appointment is to be made in accordance with the regulations in force concerning State Employees and Civil Servants and national guidelines for appointment as PhD, post doctor and research assistant 

Preferred selection criteria

  • teaching experience from music/arts education
  • teaching and/or supervision experience in higher education
  • good written and oral English and written or oral Norwegian language skills

Responsibilities/Job Description

The postdoctoral fellowship position is a temporary position where the main goal is to qualify for work in senior academic positions. The position is related to work package 3 (No: helsekulturpedagogen) in the UniKuP-project, which is situated within the cross disciplinary fields between music, arts, community and wellbeing. The postdoctoral work could potentially diversify how the music and arts relationship with community and health can be viewed and understood, and provide various approaches to research and practices in this area.

The position can preferably add to the work in some or several of the following research groups and networks: UniversitetskulturskoleprosjektetKunst- og kulturfaglig livsmestring i utdanningMusic pedagogy in developmentDecolonial arts education research and practiceNetwork for kulturskole-related Research and to the teaching and supervision responsibilities in areas such as music, dance, drama/theatre, arts & crafts, media, film, and arts education.

  • Research and publications in the cross-disciplinary fields stated above
  • Teaching and supervision tasks at the Department of Teacher education
