Responsibilities/Job Description

Coldspark: This project will develop and validate a novel advanced technology to produce H2 from methane without the generation of CO2. The postdoc will provide the solutions for gas impurities management and hydrogen separation to further optimise the whole NTP (non thermal plasma) methane cracking process. In the coldspark project the main focus is hydrogen separation and purification with membrane and PSA (pressure swing adsorption) unit operation. UiS will lead the work package on gas separation and purification in the Coldspark project. Porous liquid: This project will validate the potential of Pillararene-based systems for post-combustion and pre-combustion carbon capture applications. The postdoc will test the performance of PA (pillararene) systems in absorption and adsorption capture application. The research work involves testing and validating the existing and newly developed materials in absorption, adsorption and membrane unit operation for gas separation and purification purposes. In the Coldspark project, UiS leads the work package on gas separation and purification with main focus on hydrogen separation and purification with membrane and PSA unit operation. In the porous liquids project at UiS, newly developed porous materials will be tested for gas separation applications such as carbon capture. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be expected to publish findings in high-impact journals or books, and participate to dissemination activities (conferences, seminars, workshops).
