Qualification Details
You should be well-versed in some scientific programming environment (MATLAB, Octave, SciPy) and should have knowledge of signal processing and experimental design. A proven publication record is also desired.
As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).
Responsibilities/Job Description
Your overall focus will be to strengthen the department’s competences within computational modelling with the aim of developing our understanding of the signal processing principles in the human auditory system. Your primary tasks will be to:
- Develop auditory models that can predict human behaviour in a variety of listening tasks
- Investigate the potential effects of hearing impairment in several behavioral outcome measures, including speech perception
- Disseminate your research in the form of conference talks and high impact publications
- Teach and supervise BSc and MSc student projects and co-supervisor PhD students
