Qualification Details

As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).

Essential expertise would include:

  • Previous experience with analysis of surveillance data from a Danish setting and perspective will be an advantage.
  • Hands on skills to a high level in epidemiological/statistical methods.
  • Hands on skills to a high level in Risk Assessment.
  • Experience with teaching/training.
  • Experience in advisory service from Denmark or other European country will be an advantage.
  • Documented experience within the field of epidemiology, risk assessment and advisory service.
  • Ability to provide theoretical teaching as well as hands-on training
  • Ability to self-manage and work independently as well as ability to plan and execute complex tasks and to engage constructively in a large, international and cross-disciplinary environment.
  • Good English communication skills, oral and written.

Responsibilities/Job Description

Primary areas of responsibility:

  • Contribute to data management of the data collected in the National surveillance programmes on zoonoses and antimicrobial resistance and consumption.
  • Conduct epidemiological analysis of data sets from projects designed to support National surveillance programmes and disseminate the results in reports and scientific reports.
  • Conduct theoretical teaching as well as hands-on training in epidemiology.

About the National Food Institute

The National Food Institute at DTU is looking for an epidemiologist for a temporary position to contribute with expertise in the tasks we have serving for the DVFA. In this position, you will be conducting research projects to support the mentioned plans in collaboration with others in the research group. Moreover, you will to a certain extent, be involved in the run and reporting of the action and surveillance programmes on Salmonella in cattle and Campylobacter in chicken as well as assisting in the work related to other surveillance tasks. It will be expected that you contribute to the development of the group research portfolio. Salary and terms of employment:

The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.

The position is a 9-month project employment with a starting date on 1st April 2022 (or according to mutual agreement).
