Qualification Details

The applicant is required to have a PhD degree in  entrepreneurship and innovation, Industrial engineering and management, mechanical engineering, production engineering or equivalent

The applicant is required to have a PhD degree in [Ange ämne]. The applicant must have completed the degree no more than three years before the end of the application period.

The applicant should have demonstrated the ability to carry out both independent and team-based research within a national environment, as well as worked with the transfer of research findings towards industrial application.

The requirement for the position also includes:

  • Research experience and knowledge of digital servitization and digitally-enabled innovations.
  • Experience with empirical research conducted in industrial settings.
  • Experience of different forms of collaborative research projects, in particular industrial cooperation research projects
  • Experience of supervision of master/bachelor thesis students
  • Experience from teaching of master and bachelor level relation to the position
  • Already developed academic and industrial networks.

Responsibilities/Job Description

Today the advanced digital technologies and industry 4.0 are changing the way industrial companies work with products, production, and services. Digital servitization provides a good practical framework to work with the technology selection and integration, define new value creation opportunities, initiate new business model innovations, and establish ecosystem collaborations.

In this direction, at Mälardalen University, we are working on several research projects on business model innovation in electric vehicles, site simulation services in autonomous vehicles, and value chain collaborations for enabling circular economy. 

We are looking for a skilled Ph.D. in the area of digital servitization with specialisation in ecosystem collaboration, to join us in different research projects and strengthen our research environment.

The tasks of the position mainly consist of research but also teaching and supervision of master and bachelor students, in the areas of production and product design.

In addition, the appointment requires to actively act to create new funding, applications for research grants, and to participate in strengthening the research and managing of projects in collaboration with industrial and academic partners.

The candidate is expected to work closely with the MDU staff and other scientific partners, as well as the national industrial partners of the university.

The position is a temporary employment of 2 years.

Understanding of industrial service settings and needs, in particular, experience in the fields of digital servitization and collaborative research with industry are considered of merit.
