Responsibilities/Job Description

We seek an excellent post-doc with a high potential for original research focusing on the brain neurovascular unit in health and disease. Our most recent work is on calcium signaling in astrocytes and neurons, imaging of organelles, brain pericytes, the blood-brain barrier, aging and stroke. Our strength is in vivo physiology in mice using basic electrophysiological and laser-optic techniques, transgenic mice, and two-photon microscopy. The applicant is expected to work with two-photon microscopy in mouse cerebral cortex in relation to the regulation of blood flow in awake behaving mice in normal conditions and after a concussion.

You will spearhead the ongoing studies of cortical blood flow control and you will be responsible for bringing the data set to a final form that will make it to the forefront of cerebrovascular research.
