Qualification Details

The required level of qualifications is at Ph.D. level. Besides, applicants should fill the following requirements:

  1. Strong knowledge of power system steady-state/transient analysis, protection, as well as control theory;
  2. Skill for commercial analysis tools, e.g. DIgSILENT/PowerFactory, PSCAD, etc., and familiar with the HIL platform setting up and application;
  3. Strong ability to scientific research and innovation;
  4. Experience on teaching and master supervision is preferred.
Appointment as Postdoc presupposes scientific qualifications at PhD–level or similar scientific qualifications. The research potential of each applicant will be emphasized in the overall assessment. Appointment as a Postdoc cannot exceed a period of four years in total at Aalborg University.

Responsibilities/Job Description

At the Faculty of Engineering and Science, AAU Energy, a position as Postdoc in Power System Protection is open for appointment for 3 years from Dec. 1, 2022 or soon hereafter.

In addition, AAU Energy constantly has approx. 50-70 guest researchers from around the world. Research and teaching are in the absolute world elite in the field of energy, and we have extensive and leading workshop and laboratory facilities, where research and innovation are carried out in direct collaboration with industry to a great extent. The position is offered in relation to the research program " Wind Power System Research Program " and the Postdoc will be positioned to the section for Electric Power Systems and Microgrids (section A).Research areas will be within modeling, design and optimization of smart grid security issues including multi-energy integration, generation plant operation/protection, network interaction analysis, emergency control, and Energy Optimization.
