Qualification Details

Applicants should have a PhD in biostatistics or another related discipline. Prospective candidates should be skilled in statistical analyses and have experience with analysis of complex biomedical data. Expertise in using R and SAS for data analysis is essential, and having experience with high-performance/remote computing clusters is a merit. Interest in psychiatric and/or neurological disorders is a prerequisite and knowledge of this research field is an advantage. Successful candidates will have a high level of English proficiency.

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.

Responsibilities/Job Description

The primary project will involve enhancing polygenic risk prediction by incorporating related phenotypes. This will involve two main disease domains: psychiatric and immunological.  Additional projects within psychiatric genetics will be possible upon agreement, making use of the exceptional data from the Swedish National Registers and several genetically informed collections across a range of psychiatric disorders collected within Sweden. The project will be led by Dr. Sarah Bergen, at the Karolinska Institute (Stockholm, Sweden).
