Qualification Details

The successful candidate has a PhD within computational biology, bioinformatics, statistics, etc. preferably with experience of working with omics data, and tools within the domain of machine learning specifically graphical models. You will also be involved in teaching up to 10% of your time. The post may also include performance of other duties.

Responsibilities/Job Description

Taylored dietary recommendations holds a promise for promoting health at an individual level beyond what is possible using population wide recommendations. However, in order to provide detailed guidance, detailed information on personal lifestyle, genetics, microbiome etc. is needed. This 3 year post doc project will aim at developing methods for integration of high dimensional phenotypic information on individuals metabolism with hormone levels, host genetic and microbiome to provide both an explainable model as well as a predictive tool for tailoring personal recommendations.

The postdoc’s duties will include research within statistical and bioinformatic modelling for integration of heterogenous coupled layers of -omics type data including metagenomics, metabolomics, hormones and genomics. Specifically, you will develop robust methods for integrating dynamic post-prandial metabolomics- and metabolic hormone profiles with host genetics and metagenetics in order to characterize an individual’s metabolism, and further to develop strategies for personalized nutrition
