Qualification Details
Requirements
- A doctoral degree, or an equivalent foreign degree, in Chemistry, Physics, or appropriate field. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
- A background in mass spectrometry, preferably Proton Transfer Mass Spectrometry (Ptr-MS), Time-of-Flight mass spectrometry, chemical ionization, or related fields.
- A solid experience with gas-phase flow systems and reactors.
- A solid experience with operating standalone mass spectrometers (i.e. not connected to a chromatograph) such as Proton Transfer Mass Spectrometers (Ptr-MS), Chemical Ionization Mass Spectrometers (CIMS).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, since this is required in the daily work.
- Proven research abilities (in experimental science).
Preferred qualifications
- A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
- Some knowledge of atmospheric chemistry or gas-phase kinetics is highly desirable.

Responsibilities/Job Description
We are seeking an outstanding candidate for a postdoctoral position as part of the European Research Council Advanced project EPHEMERAL, in the team of Prof. Nozière at the Department of Chemistry of KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden. Project EPHEMERAL focuses on developing and using real-time mass spectrometric (MS) techniques, in particular, Proton Transfer Mass Spectrometry (Ptr-MS), to monitor organic radicals in the gas, in laboratory reactors and in the real atmosphere.
The recruited person will take part in the instrument development and characterization, perform experiments in gas-phase reactors in laboratory, and take part in its deployment in field campaigns.
