Qualification Details

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline (With some exceptions for special reasons such as periods of sick or parental leave, kindly indicate if such reason exists in your resume).
  • Proven skills in terms of scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals, as well as experience from developing computer codes for simulation of dynamic processes in nuclear power reactors.

Preferred qualifications

We prefer candidates with experience from modelling of dynamic processes in lead-cooled reactors and lead-cooled experimental facilities. Pedagogical experience from teaching at universities is a merit. In order to succeed and enjoy your role, we prefer that you have a well-documented ability to cooperate, to work independently and that you are aware about diversity and equality issues, with particular focus on gender equality.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal competency.

Responsibilities/Job Description

The position entails design- and safety analysis, and experimental verification of materials and components for a Swedish lead-cooled research reactor. The work is conducted within the frame of the SUNRISE project, coordinated by the nuclear engineering division at KTH. In particular, the work concerns design and modelling of the primary system of the research reactor, focusing on pumps, steam generators, control rods, and safety classified components, such as dip-coolers, reactor vessel auxiliary cooling systems and shut-down systems. An important part of the work is design and construction of experimental facilities for erosion tests of materials for lead-pumps and impellers. You will constitute an essential link between WP1 and WP5 in the SUNRISE project, and work together with professor Janne Wallenius, senior lecturer Pavel Kudinov, docent Dmitry Grishchenko, other post-docs, PhD students and MSc diploma students at the division.
