About the Project
The announced position is a part of the Umeå HIT Study, an interdisciplinary study. The first phase of the study was a randomized controlled study to determine the feasibility and effects of High-Intensity Training on muscle, brain, cardiovascular, and psychological function among physically inactive older people. The HIT-intervention, that consisted of 6-second regulated cycling sprints, was compared to moderate intensity continuous training. All data are collected and the first preliminary analyses are performed. The announced postdoctoral position is mainly related to the second phase of the Umeå HIT study. In this phase, the intervention will be adapted and implemented in real life setting, in co-creation with seniors and senior organizations. The aim of the second phase is to reach large groups of older individuals. Also work with already collected data from the first phase of the study could be included during this appointment.
