Qualification Details

Full qualification for working with animals is a must. Expertise in ischemia models and MCAo techniques is highly appreciated. Candidates are required to be fluent in written and spoken English. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in neurobiology, proven track record of success, being passionate about the topic, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities/Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to study the role of lactate metabolism in controlling microglial function in brain ischemia. Microglia, the innate immune cells of the central nervous system, play important functions in the healthy as well as in the diseased brain. These cells are highly metabolically flexible and able to utilize different metabolic substrates, resulting in diverse functional outcomes. To date, very little is known about the role of lactate in the metabolic and functional control of microglia. By using conditional knockout mouse lines, this project aims at investigating how lactate metabolism influences microglial contribution to cerebral ischemia.

How to Apply?

Application Method: Online Application
Ref. No.: 19662

Application Procedure

Highly motivated candidates are encouraged to apply by sending their CV, along with a motivation letter, and two recommendation letters.
