Responsibilities/Job Description

How does decarbonisation take place in practice when big economic actors wish to change from investments in fossil to green investments? What different valuations play a role in the difficult negotiations involving economic gains and the future of the planet?

The project is placed within a larger research project on how actors in the Scandinavian pension market strive to achieve divestment in fossil fuels. The PhD student will become a member of an excellent Scandinavian research group as well as a local research environment in Science and Technology Studies in the Division for Responsible Innovation and Design at DTU. In the selection an interest in interdisciplinary research will be considered.

Responsibilities

The PhD position is in Science and Technology Studies (STS) with a focus on how actors in the pension market and civil society are seeking to transform the value regimes that govern the rationale and practices of investments in order to increase fossil divestment. You will conduct a qualitative case study of a Danish case and be involved in collaborative and comparative STS research within the project (entitled Fossil Free Futures).

The PhD position involves independent research under supervision from experienced colleagues, obligations as teaching assistant, participation in PhD courses and dissemination activities. Our division values a collective, generous, playful and supportive work environment and we expect you to contribute to this.
