Qualification Details

The candidate should have the following qualifications:

  • The candidate must hold a master degree in areas such as Biotechnology, Life sciences, or other relevant to this position.
  • Ability to work in the following areas: anaerobic digestion, biomass characterization
  • Microbial analysis ability
  • Ability in modeling and analysis of process and having experience with programming software is an advantage.

You must have a two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to a two-year master's degree.

Responsibilities/Job Description

The successful candidate will join an innovative, collaborative, international and multidisciplinary team within Bioconversion group. The group works on the development and validation of new technologies based on the use of microorganisms as tools to transform organic waste and wastewater into useful bioproducts, biofuels and bioenergy.

Overall, the PhD student will investigate microbial interactions in anaerobic digestion processes. The project also include synthesizing and characterization of conductive materials and other additives.
