Qualification Details

You must have a two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to a two-year master's degree.

Specific qualifications: Experience with handling of pathogens, primary cell work, and well-trained in immunology. Have good communication skills, excellent command of English (written and spoken), be very collaborative, self-motivated and able to organize your tasks.

Approval and Enrolment

The scholarship for the PhD degree is subject to academic approval, and the candidate will be enrolled in one of the general degree programmes at DTU. For information about our enrolment requirements and the general planning of the PhD study programme, please see DTU's rules for the PhD education.

Assessment

The assessment of the applicants will be made by main supervisor, Professor Susanne Brix Pedersen, Technical University of Denmark.

Responsibilities/Job Description

We are looking for a super talented candidate who can carry out an independent PhD project, and holds the ambition and commitment to achieve excellence in a collaborative environment of highly qualified and dedicated postdocs, PhD students and technical personnel. The project involves collaborations with external research groups of high international standard, and extensive outreach activities.

Responsibilities

As a PhD student you will:

  • Develop and be responsible for the project-related single-cell analysis
  • Validate and interpret data, and be involved in managing the data infrastructure and in analyzing the data
  • Lead and contribute to publication of research papers together with supervisors and project partners
  • Network with internal and external colleagues and collaborators, and take active part in our dedicated research groups
  • Represent our work at conferences and scientific meetings
  • Take active part in outreach activities in collaboration with the funding body

The Department of Biotechnology and Biomedicine (DTU Bioengineering) addresses challenges of societal and scientific importance through basic and applied research, teaching, scientific consultancy and dissemination of knowledge within the areas of microbiology, biomedicine and biotechnology.

The department’s research lies within the areas of biochemistry, biophysics, molecular, structural and cellular biology, enzymology, immunology, microbial ecology and physiology, natural product chemistry, modelling nanotechnology and bioinformatics.

Salary and Appointment terms
