Qualification Details

The candidate must hold a degree in dentistry (equivalent of 3+2 years) and must have obtained authorization to practice as a dentist at the time of employment. The candidate must have clinical experience from Danish paediatric community dentistry as well as clinical dental traumatology. Furthermore, fluency in oral and written Danish is a prerequisite, as the position entails Danish documentary work as well as communication with and clinical examination of Danish children and young adults.  Candidates with some research and clinical experience and knowledge in the field of dental traumatology or closely related fields are preferred.

About the Project

The research project will be a collaboration between Pediatric Dentistry and Clinical Genetics, and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, both research areas at Department of Odontology, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen and the Dental Trauma Clinic, Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Copenhagen University Hospital (Rigshospitalet), Copenhagen, Denmark.

The project consists of two parts (A&B):A: Investigation of the influence of patients’ age at the time of injury relative to pulp survival in a historical and prospective cohort of patients suffering a lateral luxation injury of permanent incisors with mature root development.

B: Mapping and evaluating reasons for the loss of permanent incisors in 8-18 year-old children suffering a dental trauma in the Capital Region of Denmark.

In both projects the candidate will work in the Dental Trauma Clinic at the Copenhagen University Hospital (Rigshospitalet) handling children at different ages and collecting clinical data from patients with traumatic dental injuries.

  • Co-supervisor Senior Consultant, PhD Eva Lauridsen, Dental Trauma Clinic, Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Copenhagen University Hospital (Rigshospitalet), Copenhagen, Denmark.
