About the Department/Section/Group

DTU Health Tech in collaboration with Rigshospitalet is looking for a qualified candidate for a vacant PhD position in Data Science for Cardiovascular Diseases. The purpose of this project is to develop AI-based machine/deep learning (ML/DL) algorithms and computational methods for better prediction of significant VA (ventricular arrhythmias) and SCD (sudden cardiac death). This will be done by integrating the patient data as well as ICD (implantable cardioverter defibrillator) data. The goal is to optimize the selection of patients for ICD implantation and their subsequent treatment. More specifically, these AI algorithms on patient and ICD data for better prediction of VA in ambulatory settings is aimed at to enable decreasing morbidity / mortality and improve patient reported outcome in patients with high risk of life-threatening VAs.The position is part of the Digital Health section of DTU Health Tech who performs research in digital technologies for health, healthcare, life science, and society, in order to enhance the efficiency of healthcare delivery and make healthcare more personalized and precise.
