Qualification Details

The position requires:

  • PhD degree in a subject relevant for the project with a focus on epidemiological studies
  • Good knowledge of statistics
  • Good knowledge of epidemiology
  • Basic knowledge in medicine
  • Documented experience of conducting statistical analyzes
  • Documented experience of compiling results
  • Documented experience of writing scientific articles

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. The successful applicant is at the beginning of his/her research career and is ready to take on the challenges of our ongoing research projects and develop together with us. You must have a good ability to work independently and have good structural skills. You must also have excellent communication and collaboration skills as you the position require you work in two different research groups who both work closely together.

The following are merits for the position:

  • Knowledge of environmental medicine
  • Previous experience in working with register and biobank based data
  • Knowledge within SAS, SPSS, R or Stata

Responsibilities/Job Description

The associate researcher will be employed by the research group for Environment, Society and Health, but will be part of research projects that are conducted by the research group for Environmental Epidemiology. The employment primarily involves working in register and biobank-based epidemiological projects, where the connection between air pollution and fertility is studied, as well as the connection between noise and breast cancer and the connection between chemical environmental toxins and fetal growth. The position involves studying the current research area, statistical processing of existing data and writing both scientific and popular science articles.

About the Project/Department

The two research groups "Environment, Society and Health", led by Associate Professor Anna Oudin, and "Environmental Epidemiology", led by Professor Lars Rylander, are now looking for an assistant researcher together. Both research groups are located at the Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, which study the importance of the environmental health. The operations are located at Medicon Village and the Tornblad Institute in Lund.
