Qualification Details

We are looking for you with competence within the subject of environmental psychology (or equivalent) with a particular focus on qualitative inquiry and human development in relation to outdoor environments.

Requirements:

  • Completed master’s degree in environmental psychology (or landscape architecture with a focus on environmental psychology) or equivalent
  • Very good knowledge in English (orally as well as in writing)

Additional merits:

  • Good knowledge of research on children’s perspectives in relation to place
  • Good knowledge of qualitative inquiry based in a humanistic approach to science
  • Previous experience from teaching
  • Studies within the master’s programme Outdoor Environments for Health and Well-being
  • Studies in communication and experience from working with Alumni activity
  • Good knowledge in Swedish (orally as well as in writing)
  • Capable to work independently, as well as in teams.
  • Motivated to contribute to the further development of the educational environment
  • Interested in research

Responsibilities/Job Description

You will primarily teach in the environmental psychology courses within the master’s programme Outdoor Environments for Health and Well-being. The work tasks consist of course leadership, preparing and running seminars and exercises, carrying out supervision, assisting in examination, and carrying out other task related to teaching at the program. You are also to have a particular responsibility for coordinating the Alumni activities linked to the OHW master's program. You are expected to fulfil your tasks in an independent manner, and through own initiatives contribute to the college and the further development of the educational environment.

About the Department

The department of People and Society research and teach environmental psychology, business management and advisory services. The focus of the department is on the human environment as a place for work, economic activities, health and well-being. You can read more about the department here.

The department's environmental psychology group undertake basic as well as applied research regarding the function and importance of outdoor environments on well-being, quality of life and health. The environmental psychology group now needs to recruit a full time lecturer within the subject area of environmental psychology which focus on human development in relation to outdoor environments and qualitative methods.
