Qualification Details

We are looking for a candidate who has experience working with smaller and larger scale data to work on multiple research projects. The candidate should be able to work in a structured and independent manner with a focus on details, and be willing to go the extra mile. Applicants should have a master's level education (or be studying towards one) in an area of relevance such as data science, economics, statistics etc. Experience of, and interest in, programming languages such as R or Python, working with tools for data extraction, organization and analysis, as well as handling large amounts of data is a requirement. Good knowledge of Swedish and English is also a requirement.

Responsibilities/Job Description

The tasks consist of being responsible for data collection and data management in various projects, such as extraction and organization of data, construction of databases, and to some extent analysis of data. The research projects the employee will be working on will vary, but include, among other things, one project exploring the effect of Covid-19 on mental health in India, one project exploring the impact of suicide accidents on the mental health of train drivers, and one project studying discrimination in academia. The successful candidate will work with a couple of different researchers, in English and in Swedish. Data will be collected via web scrapping, from research articles, and through contact with relevant authorities. Tasks include:

  • Organization of data.
  • Data extraction via scraping websites and analysis of research articles.
  • Creation of data bases.
  • Basic analysis of data.
  • Development of documentation.
  • Generation of graphs, figures and tables.
  • Provide feedback to the researchers.
