Responsibilities/Job Description

The chair is a so-called “key domain” chair and has a central role in the department and the school. As a consequence, the candidate should be able and willing to play a leading role in the maintenance of the high standard and further development of the domain of microeconomics in research and education.

The candidate has an excellent research profile in the area of applied and/or theoretical microeconomics and must be an internationally recognized researcher in the field, who is firmly embedded in relevant international research networks. We expect the candidate to play a leading role in initiating, coordinating and conducting research projects, leading to international publications. The candidate is expected to also actively work on third party funding opportunities to facilitate maintenance and growth of high quality research and education and will contribute to the academic and non-academic visibility, reputation and impact of MPE and SBE, both nationally and internationally.

The candidate must be a recognized and dedicated teacher who has developed as well as taught innovative courses within the microeconomics domain. The candidate should have an interest in and be willing to apply the Problem Based Learning (PBL) system used at SBE. The candidate will be one of the senior faculty members within the department, which also has a substantial amount of junior researchers/lecturers and PhD candidates. This requires the ability to motivate and coach young researchers to perform high-profile research and teaching. We expect the candidate to be a team player and a team builder, who is willing to fulfill senior administrative/managerial tasks either at the department or school level.

We offer a dynamic and challenging job in an internationally oriented organisation. The candidate will be part of the School’s international network of top universities and renowned scholars.
