About the Project/Department

The DTU Proteomics Core is a very well-equipped academic proteomics core facility and supports academic and industrial scientists both at DTU and beyond in their research by providing a wide range of proteomics services using various platforms for protein and peptide separation, state-of-the-art mass spectrometers for LC-MS analysis and specialized bioinformatics tools for data analysis. The facility provides service and engages in collaborations within advanced labeled and label-free quantitative proteomics, targeted proteomics and Data-Independent Acquisition workflows. We have a long-standing record and focus on high-sensitivity analysis of very limited sample amounts, all the way down to single cells. From November 2021, the scientific supervisors of the facility will be Associate Professor Erwin Schoof and Professor Ulrich auf dem Keller, supported by a steering committee of key proteomics researchers at DTU.

The DTU Proteomics Core is located at the DTU Lyngby campus in a recently constructed building housing ultra-modern, purpose-built laboratories for protein research. Currently, the facility hosts five ThermoFisher Orbitrap mass-spectrometers (two Eclipse Tribrids, one Exploris480 and two Q Exactive Classics), with FAIMSPro capability on the latest-generation instruments. For advanced chromatography methods, we have a U-3000 offline high pH fractionation system, and utilize online U-3000, Easy nLC1200 and EvoSep One platforms to support all modern proteomics approaches.
