The MPI for Psycholinguistics in Nijmegen, The Netherlands is the only research institute in the world entirely devoted to the study of language. Our goal is to understand how our minds and brains process language, how language interacts with other aspects of mind, and how we can learn languages of quite different types.

The Language Archive maintains one of the largest collections of spoken and signed languages from around the world, part of which is recognized as UNESCO Memory of the World. Its goal is to preserve these materials for future generations as well as to make them available now and in the future.
