Responsibilities/Job Description

We live in a changing world where a warmer climate, changing land use and increasing cross-border movements have major effects on sustainable development, disease outbreaks and ecosystem health. Arctic ecosystems are relatively species-poor and are considered particularly sensitive to environmental changes that occur very rapidly in the north.

The overall aim of the project is to obtain new knowledge that enables the detection, prediction and control of zoonotic infectious diseases that affect human societies and the Arctic ecosystems. The project includes the collection of samples from humans, wild animals, arthropods, environmental data, laboratory analyzes of pathogens, statistical analyzes and modeling. It addresses the biodiversity and dynamics of reservoirs and pathogens as well as risks to human and animal health. The project will also evaluate complex interactive effects of climate and landscape structure on reservoirs and pathogens in a One Health perspective.
