Qualification Details

A) General eligibility requirement

You meet the general eligibility requirement for doctoral/third-cycle/PhD education if you:

  1. have been awarded a second-cycle/advanced/master qualification (i.e. master degree), or
  2. have satisfied the requirements for courses comprising at least 240 credits of which at least 60 credits were awarded in the advanced/second-cycle/master level, or
  3. have acquired substantially equivalent knowledge in some other way in Sweden or abroad.*

B) Specific eligibility requirement

You meet the specific eligibility requirement for doctoral/third-cycle/PhD education if you:

- Show proficiency in English equivalent to the course English B/English 6 at Swedish upper secondary school.

(A) and (B) can only be certified by the documentation requirement for doctoral education.

Skills and personal qualities

The candidate must hold a master degree in the field of immunology. Ideally, the candidate would have previous experience in ILC research, mouse work and computational biology. It is a merit if the applicant has some experience with flow cytometry analysis and sorting. The candidate should be self-motivated, have good communications skills and a proven ability to interact effectively and work productively in a team. Fluency in English is a requirement. Personal skills are highly evaluated.

Responsibilities/Job Description

In this project, the incoming doctoral student will develop an in-depth understanding of how T cells and ILC respond to allergens, differentiate and persist over time. The student will also develop a deep understanding of many cutting-edge techniques including single cell RNA-Sequencing, cloning, cell culture, animal handling and allergy models, flow cytometry and more. The student will also contribute to the general management and dynamic of the laboratory.

About the Project/Department

The Coquet group (https://ki.se/en/mtc/jonathan-coquet-group), at the department of Molecular tumor and cell biology (MTC) at KI, has a strong track record of research on T lymphocytes with a special focus on allergy. Now in collaboration with Itziar Martinez-Gonzalez’s team, we are interested in investigating the origin of T cell and Innate Lymphoid Cell (ILC) responses in mouse models of allergic inflammation.
