Responsibilities/Job Description

Pioneering scientific research and innovations with an enormous impact on the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and on people's health in the broadest sense: as a business developer in medtech you make it financially possible and you support research projects in this field. Your first assignment? Establish partnerships from your network in the medtech sector with companies that want to co-finance research and thus exploit this important growth market for TU Delft. You link companies that want to do research and are looking for innovative solutions in the field of medical technology with scientists and programs in which we at TU Delft collaborate with the Erasmus Medical Center and the Erasmus University. You facilitate the entire process from idea to successful collaboration and you are responsible for the business aspects. An exciting role with a direct impact on important innovations in the medical world.

You build and maintain a network of companies that may wish to participate in research programmes. Do you see a concrete opportunity here? Then you sit down with the scientists and the companies and you create the conditions for a joint project formulation. Conversely, you keep your finger on the pulse of scientists for ongoing research in health and technology that companies are interested in. Here too, you bridge the gap between scientists and external partners in order to arrive at concrete projects. You also maintain an extensive network in the medtech sector. You know exactly what is going on and do not miss any opportunity to initiate new research projects in this area!

As a business developer you will work in our Health & Tech team on a daily basis and at the same time you will be part of the Corporate Innovation team with approximately thirty colleagues. This in an independent and flexible role, but also in a nice team with very diverse colleagues and a good work-life balance.
