Qualification Details

We are looking for a high level Research Technician with a specialization in bioprocesses (in particular microbial fermentation processes and/or protein downstream processes) with preferably more than 5 years of practical experience in industry or a research environment.We value that you:

  • Have good basic knowledge of biotechnology and bioprocesses
  • Have experience with microbial fermentation processes
  • Experience with protein purification and/or other protein downstream processes
  • Previous experience with recombinant production of proteins is an advantage
  • Previous experience with ÄKTA-systems and Unicorn is an advantage
  • Are service-minded, flexible, and thrive by conveying knowledge and good practices to others
  • Have good sense of order and like to help with the daily maintenance, ensuring the (GMO certified) laboratory is in nice and tidy condition.
  • Are a person with a positive mindset and with very good planning, prioritizing and organizational skills.
  • Are fluent in English

Responsibilities/Job Description

Our ambition is to develop a new protein production platform as part of a broader collaborative project on Advanced Biologics, together with DTU Bioengineering and North Carolina State University in USA. The project is sponsored by the Novo Nordisk Foundation. You will be part of a team with postdocs, PhD students and master students, and have an instrumental role in this challenging and interesting position. We plan to appoint as soon as possible, for 2 years.

You will:

  • Collaborate across the research team to support the development of integrated yeast bioprocesses
  • Support the development and optimization of yeast fermentation processes
  • Support the development and optimization of protein capture processes
  • Resolve and troubleshoot forthcoming problems, and support the maintenance of equipment
  • Train project students and new employees on already established methods, and use of equipment.
  • Support daily tasks and ensure the lab is in a good condition
