The education we offer is both practical and theoretical, while also placing great emphasis on ethical perspectives. Historical osteology has applications in the other subjects offered at the department. Osteological methods are also used in geology, biology, odontology, veterinary medicine and human medicine. The study of historical osteology therefore has close scientific ties with these disciplines and is thus cross-disciplinary in nature. Internationally, historical osteology corresponds to two disciplines, namely biological anthropology and archaeozoology.
