About the Department

The Social and Clinical Pharmacy group (SCP) has a long-standing expertise in social and clinical pharmacy research and teaching. Social pharmacy deals with the role and use of medicines at the individual, group and societal levels and the related professional roles. Clinical pharmacy is a health specialty, which describes the activities and services of the clinical pharmacist to develop and promote the rational and appropriate use of medicinal products and devices. The focus areas of SCP are clinical pharmacy, pharmaceutical policy and medicines use. SCP also hosts the WHO Collaborating Center for Research and Training in the Patient Perspective on Medicines Use. Teaching is an important part of the position (~50%). This includes teaching and teaching development at the Bachelor and Master level within a palette of elective and compulsory courses in social and clinical pharmacy, as well as supervision at the Master and PhD level.
