Qualification Details

At the human level, the associate professor is expected to have good collaborative skills as well as to be able to create and maintain good relations with researchers with different cultural and political backgrounds.

Daily attendance at the department is assumed with the possibility of working from home to the extent that it does not prevent ongoing active participation in the environment at the department. It is also assumed that the employee is prepared to participate actively in all aspects of the daily work at the department and the study programmes.

Responsibilities/Job Description

The position includes research in sociolinguistics and teaching within a broad spectrum of the Danish subject's linguistic dimensions, including grammar, phonetics and discourse analysis. Emphasis will be placed on,

  • the applicant has research qualifications in the field of sociolinguistics, with particular regard to the relationship between language, identity and place;
  • that the applicant has documented broad teaching experience within the language dimensions of the danish subject
  • that the applicant has a danish professional background.

The position will be associated with the research group Foreign Languages and Linguistics (LangLing), where the successful candidate for the position will contribute to ensuring a continued rethinking and further development of the environment within Danish language and sociolinguistics.
