Responsibilities/Job Description

We are looking for an assistant professor that has a strong profile in design of mechanical systems to join our growing Biomechanical Engineering (BE) department at the Faculty of Engineering Technology. More specifically within the chair of Biomedical Device Design and Production (BDDP), we have the passion to really get novel biomedical engineered solutions into the clinic or patient. Therefore, we apply various methods including design engineering, experimental research, human factors, ergonomics, biomechanical modeling, CAD design, prototyping (including 3D-printing) and testing in simulated surgical settings. But, we are always open to embrace new approaches! Together with industrial leaders and SME and an extensive network of clinical institutions, we cover the entire trajectory from idea to clinical evaluation including verification of Medical Device Regulation demands. This is facilitated by the TechMed Centre.

We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Professor who pursues a research line in mechanical and integrated design for biomedical applications. This involves mechanism design as well as human-instrument interface and a tissue-instrument interface design. Involving students in the research and design projects should raise your motivation to apply! This position is funded by a national program to expand university lecturers in engineering. So, if you have original ideas how to address the healthcare challenges from your mechanical engineering background, please join our multidisciplinary and inclusive BDDP team.
